2007 Montana Outstanding Biology Teacher Award

CHS biology and chemistry teacher Helen Bosch.

The 2007 Montana Outstanding Biology Teacher Award has been awarded to CHS biology and chemistry teacher, Helen Bosch. Helen has taught at CHS since 2000. She was previously employed at HHS and served in the Peace Corps in Botswana. She received her teaching degree in biology and chemistry from Carroll College and holds her MAED in curriculum and technology from the University of Phoenix.
The Helena School district is sending Ms. Bosch to the NABT conference in Atlanta, GA where she will be honored at a luncheon for the nation’s 50 OBTA’s . The conference will cover a wide array of topics and feature some of the leading experts in the field of biology.
Helen’s teaching expertise, initiative, and her ability to build relationships with her students were fundamental receiving the Outstanding Biology Teacher Award. Helen says, “I believe in active and meaningful learning. My students are engaged in a lab or activity everyday that gets them applying what they learn and reinforcing concepts. I want biology to be relevant, so I try to make abstract ideas tie to current events or something they can relate to in their lives.”
